The NT settings window is straight forward. Automated Trading Section Timer Interval - Value that determines the frequency that both Direct Automation and Passthrough Automation check for Order Instruction Files. The value is specified in milliseconds. PassThrough - Turns PassThrough Automation on or off. Confirm Orders - When checked, an order confirmation dialogue box will prompt the user for permission to process the order.
Connect Section Port Default - Port # used to connect to TWS. The number specified in NT must be identical to the one specified in TWS. Port Alternate - Used when managing multiple copies/accounts in TWS. Value must be greater at minimum zero even if you do not need this. Client ID - Any default number is valid. This parameter is primarily used if you plan to run multiple instances of NT connected to on instance of TWS. You will need to give each NT instance a unique Client ID value. IP/NAME - Used if you are connecting to TWS on another computer within your LAN. Leave blank if running NinjaTrader on the same computer as TWS.
Reset Section Tracking - Will delete all recorded historical live and simulated order transactions. Logs - Will delete all historical log files. Log Level - Controls the level of logging detail for TWS. Only to be used by request of the developer for debugging purposes
Matrix Section Increment Multipliers - Each row within the Matrix (see Order Entry - Matrix Entry) represents the BID or ASK + an increment multiplier. An increment multiplier is simply, the symbols increment value x a multiplier value. Example: NQ BID at 1000, NQ increment value is 0.50, in the above image, Row 2 mulitplier is 2. 1000 + (0.50 x 2) = 1001. The value in row 2 for the BID section will be 1001. Column Qty 1 & 2 - These values represent contract sizes (used for submitting order from the matrix) displayed above each matrix column. BreakEven button offset - When checked, the value of the "breakeven button offset" parameter at the symbol level (in the symbol manager) will be added to the breakeven point when the "BREAKEVEN" button is pressed. Limit order on close - When checked, all orders on press of the "CLOSE" button will be sent as LIMIT orders using the "limit offset" parameter specified in the symbol manager. If left unchecked, market orders will be sent out. * This option is recommended checked. Sending a MARKET order means canceling live OCA order and then submitting the MARKET order. This process takes longer. Invert position cells - When checked, position STOP and TARGET cells will be inverted.
Use bid/ask for trail stops - When checked, The BID will be used for long, ASK for short when adjusting STOPs via trail management. Otherwise, LAST price will be used. Remember Windows Location - When checked, NinjaTrader will remember last window locations upon start-up. Confirm SuperDOM Orders - When checked, NinjaTrader will prompt the user for order placement confirmation when entering orders using the SuperDOM. Application State Control - When checked, NT will only display buttons that are available for use within the current state of the application. This can maximize efficiency since irrelevant buttons will be disabled and grey in color. Below is an image with Application State Control on showing NT while its waiting for order entry instructions. Notice some button controls are disabled.
