NT8 b3 EXPORT - market replay data only

Appears to be very slow. Makes NT7 look fast.

    I'm at iteration 16/38, elapsed time: 00:35:00/ remaining 00:50:00..

Output file was about 4.5GB at this time.

    I expect around: ~13GB file.

Almost 2 hours later and I'm still waiting.

    Iteration 22/38, elapsed 02:23:00/Remaining 01:49:09.

Output file is what I expected, 13.3GB, but it is still writing to it.

    NT7 is under 5 minutes.

        Importing was 8 minutes,

Iteration 56 of 57? That doesn't match the export.

Oooh - there's an error message.. "Unhandled exception: Cannot set Owner property after Dialog is show"... and I did get successful import of market replay data message. (clicked OK, clicked OK on error message)

And I'm going to have to END TASK NT8...

And restoring to another instance of NT8 to test.

I have no idea when this error popped up as it was on a different monitor that I didn't have NT8 on.

"Ninjatrader was unable to restore the selected backup archive file: Unable to find the specified file"..

It's still importing the backup file though, "elapsed time 00:50:32/Remaining 02:47:00 Iteration 14/57".. so looks like it is progressing still.

Looks like the SD CARD is having troubles with windows 7 and lost it's place.

It looks like the USB2 extension cord I was using is the issue.

              Oh my...

Got the data copied off the SD CARD (samsung 64 gb PRO)..

imported from my raid 0 in under 30 seconds.

NT8 did display - "Unhandled exception: Cannot set Owner property after Dialog is shown."

And I'm going to need to restart - I can't close any windows or control anything.

                Well, doing another backup test.

NT8 has major issues writing straight to SD cards. (I even used a different card).

It had no problem writing to a regular drive in several minutes.

Can we get some drive names so we know what we are exporting to?

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. After speaking with our QA team and looking into the SD card issue a bit further, this is an issue which we will not have much control over, if any. When it comes to write speeds to an SD card, the speeds will be very largely determined by the speed of the card itself and the bus used to write to it. As far as the NinjaTrader platform is concerned, it is simply writing to file, the same as it would on a hard drive. Anything slowing down the process would be caused by the hardware itself.

I've added your suggestion concerning drive names to our list, with tracking ID # SFT-644.

I honestly never tried in NT7. I can confirm it is just as painfully slow to SDCard.

Exporting to disk and then copying to SD CARD is the way to go.

Hi Sledge, what were you trying to export exactly? Tick data?

About 15 gig of under 2 years of data, historical, replay, whatever was converted.

It's very fast to ssd or regular drive.

The multiple accesses of how the data is pushed to sd card is probably what is killing it. Takes a few minutes with regular windows copy.
