Hello, I’m developing an add-on for back test any normal strategie on several computers at the same time.
The goal is to reduce the total computing time.
For example with 2 identical computers (plus a small overhead for the TCP communications and calculations) the overall computing time of a strategy should be ˝ of the time compare to a single computer, and so on ….
The Cluster Add-on should work with equivalents “default” and “genetic” optimizers.
As anyone tried this before?
Does running multiple instances on different computers with the same key is against any disposition of the Ninjatrader License agreement?

Hello Helder,

While you are able to install NinjaTrader on multiple computers using your Live License key, we only allow for one computer to be running at a time with that key.

This means that you must shutdown NinjaTrader on one computer before starting NinjaTrader on another computer.

If you would like to run NinjaTrader on multiple computers simultaneously you must use different licenses (meaning you would need to purchase a second license) or use the Free Simulation License on one computer that you do not plan to place trades from.

If you would like the Free Simulation License emailed to you, please request this by sending an email to platformsupport [at] ninjatrader [dot] com.


Regarding setting up a system to automatically start strategies, this would be outside of what is supported by NinjaTrader Support, but this thread will remain open for any community members that would like to assist.
