    Set up email for notification

    Hi,

I have an yahoo email account that i am trying to set up using Tools> Option> Misc
However, i could get it to work, I tried to enter smtp.mail.yahoo.com as my server and using either port 25, 465, or 587, but neither of them works.

Please let me know correct way how I can set up my email in NT-7. Thanks!

    Hello,

    Thanks for posting.

The correct port for Yahoo would be 587. Below I have provided a link to a thread on this Forum on e-mail SMTP setups.

Below is a list of known e-mail settings and information demonstrating configuring e-mail alerts within NinjaTrader. Included are settings which have been tested with basic accounts. Please ensure that your settings are configured identically to those included, as some only use the beginning of the e-mail address and do not

      Hi,
I follow your link and set up the email for my yahoo account, however, when after set up the email and I click on Test, I still get a message "Failure to send mail: The SMTP server requires a secure connection or client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.7.1 Authentication required"

Please help me with the error message further. Thanks!

        Thank you for your reply,

Please write into to PlatformSupport[AT]NinjaTrader[DOT]Com along with your log and trace files and a link to this forum post.

Please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to your response so I may investigate this matter further.

        * Open your NinjaTrader folder under Documents.
        * Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
        * Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
        * Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.
