    Error processing request 'bw'

    Hi,

    I keep getting this error when my strategy tries to send an order to IB (paper trading account): "IB Simulation, Error processing request:-'bw' : cause - jextend.bw.l(bw.java: 1906) (322) affected Order: Buy 1251 StopLimit @ 81,22 x 81,3"

    This strategy has been running fine for months. I haven't made any changes either.

    I closed NT7 and restarted. When I activated the strategy the exact same error occurred.

    Please advise.

    Are you able to send manually placed orders to Interactive Brokers from NinjaTrader?

    Please send an email to platformsupport [at] ninjatrader [dot] com so that we may further investigate your log and trace files. In the email, please include a link to this forum thread.

      Hi Chelsea,

      I get the same error message when I try to send orders manually (through the "order" tab of NT7). I tried a StopLimit and a Limit order, but always received the same error. But both orders show up in TWS, but they need to be transmitted (transmit button visible).

      I know where to find the log file, but where is the trace file you mentioned? Will send them via email as soon as you tell me where to find it.

        Never mind! I found the files and sent them via email.

          Hi Chelsea,

          you sent me this via email: "With NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.34 you must be using TWS 960.2.g."

          I used version 967.1e and this appears to have been the problem. I switched back to the version you told me to use and now I can place a trade manually without any problem. Later today I will start the strategy and see how that works. Hopefully changing the TWS version did the trick!

          Obviously it is a bad idea to have TWS set to automatically use the latest version.

          EDIT: After the exchange opened my strategy could successfully place an order. All good again!
