    Supply/Demand Indicator

    Hi,
    I'm looking for a supply/demand indicator.
MT4 (metatrader 4) has several of the indicators I'm looking for but need them for Ninja.
Most of them have "sup/dem" , "sup_dem" in the title or something similar.
It would be great if someone could change the code to make it work for Ninja.
The indicator draws a rectangular shaded box at swing points and continues to draw the box until price passes completely through the supply/demand zone.
I could send someone the indicator with code to see if it could be easily changed for Ninja.
    Thanks!

    Hi Shanethoene,

    Thank you for posting.

While NinjaTrader would not be able to assist you in this matter, I will leave the thread open for our other users who may be able to assist you in this development.

We do have a fully documented help guide to assist you in NinjaScript should you choose to try and develop this yourself. Please see the link below -

Let me know if I can help with anything else.

Ninjacators ( www. ninjacators.com) released a real time supply/demand indicator that I just started using. It is FREE. There's also free webinars on how to use it. Works on any instrument and on any time frame. Check it out. Cheers

Here is my review on ninjacators supply/demand free indicator.
You get what you paid for it

Its a GREAT indicator, IF it works.
They recoded it so that it no longer lags or stalls your NT.
But the new version is just as worse.

Please note, I only have one chart open, with 2 indicators in main panel and 1 indicator on bottom. 30 days data loaded, and a top of the line gaming pc.

So I know its not my pc configuration.

When I set the supply/demand indicator to default settings, which is "close on bar False", it seriously locks up and lags my NT7.

If I set it to True, then my NT and charts run smooth and flawless..but the indicator will not work as designed.

So I suggest not to download this until they get this resolved again.

        Poor coding on their part.

Maybe someone here can recode this? any takers?

        thanks

        E

PS, dont get me wrong, i LOVE this indicator, but it doesnt work in its current code state

          Another point - Ninjacators

Besides this causing havoc on your charts and stalling NT, it back plots the levels.
I looked at this carefully on market replay, on a 5 minute chart, and it back plots or repaints approximately 5 to 7 bars back...so in my opinion, what good is this for me, could of and should of, right? This is not a real time supply and demand like the vendor claims, that's too bad, because the concept and the sale pitch is what I was looking for all along, but another disappointment..no wonder they give this away for free.... anyone have same experiences?

            Supply and Demand

You're never going to get around the back plotting issue (not repainting), as in the case of the indicator you are referring too, and almost every other one like it, that plotting will always be dependent on the strength setting used.. The larger the setting used, the better (imo) for actually seeing meaningful areas of support and resistance.. Although the drawback to that is, it will also take that many bars before the zone will actually be drawn on your chart.. The lower the setting, the quicker it will appear, but then the drawback to that is, you end up with (imo) meaningless zones "everywhere"!

I'm not sure if you would be interested in a retail version of an indicator that offers an alternative solution to that problem, but you can watch a video demonstration of it here..

really appreciate this Edge, this might be what I am looking for. Any issues with locking up or stalling NT charts?

I use it on a couple dozen charts and do not experience any problems.. Now, the amount of historical data and dataseries you use on your charts can effect their load time. I mean if you try to load 100 days of historical data on a tick chart, it might take a min or two to load/refresh, but I experience no problems as far as charts freezing during high volatility.. But then I guess I should also mention my computer has an I7 processor with 12g of ram running Win7 64 bit and NT7 64bit. I can't say for sure I would be able to do the same thing on an older XP machine with only 2gig of ram.. But then, I would not recommend anyone try to trade off a machine like that in the first place.. If I can help in any other way just let me know.. Good Luck!

That is refreshing to hear. I have the same PC config as yours, exactly the same, and with this ninjacators supply and demand indicator, it reak havoc. I even attempt to load ONE chart and NO other indicators, and just 60 days of data. It works fine during really slow volume, but when the market wakes up, I can kiss my NT platform goodbye...it stalls and locks up....poor coding I think, what did I expect, it was FREE...I did get what I paid for I guess...what I should do is email them as I never did yet....but they do have a facts page which addresses this issue which other experience, but a very lame answer in my opinion....but if your supply demand can do what this one can and more, im in.....not sure if they have a trial or not.....

Think I found it in "Remove NinjaScript Assembly".

                        Hello mitchbw,

Most 3rd party indicators are assemblies and can be removed by clicking File -> Utilties -> Remove NinjaScript Assembly.

ncatRSD works fine now, but some editing needed!

Is there a way to edit the script to show a brand new zone as a different color? I want to know when I get a new one within the last 30 minutes or 1 hour. New supply or demand zones that pop up tend to be stronger.

They must have improved the script, because I'm not having any problems running my ninjatrader when I use it. I even have multiple charts that use the ncatRSD simultaneously & it doesn't slow the program at all! I would just like a little tweek to make it even more powerful. Anyone?

I'm using this indicator in 2016 & there are no back plotting issues for me. It looks like they keep improving this indicator. When a zone pops up, it always starts at the original spot on the chart. The only thing I need now is for the ability to set a different color for brand new zones that pop up. I want to be able to glance at my computer from farther away & say "OH! There's a new zone that popped up! It's blue!" and then I can look for a trade from there.

I would recommend reaching out to the developer for support of this custom add-on indicator.
