Database Restriction 256MB

Hi,

there was a restriction on the Ninjatrader.sdf of 256MB for Ninja 7. May I know if this restriction still applies in 8?

Thanks for your note.

I will need to check with the NinjaTrader Development to confirm, however, from my understanding the database limit is still the default of 256MB for SQL CE 4.0.

I appreciate your patience while I double check this with development.

Our development has let me know the database is created with the default maximum size of 256MB.

However, they have also mentioned that if NT detects the database has grown over a certain size, that on the next startup NT will increase the size of the database.

Ok, So what happens when during the day we exceed that max size.
Is it Crash and Burn, Graceful warning or exit etc.

Hi JerryWar,

Our development has let me know that if the database grows over the limit while running, this would cause an exception and crash NinjaTrader.
The hope would be as the limit is approached, the database will be grown over the next startup before a crash is imminent.

Chelsea Thanks, That is good to know. It is not a problem yet with NT8 as I keep re-installing after issues. But I looked back at NT7 and I was at 254 meg so I guess I was skating on thin ice.
