    Failed to verify Licence

I'm getting a failed to verify licence error when loading up my NT7 today. I don't believe it is an ISP or firewall issue. I've been a long time user with the same setup. Is it possible to check your licence servers?

    Hello ahagger,

The license server is up and running. Can you please try a reset of your modem/router first and check if this will make a difference.

Are you wireless connected? If so, please hard wire your computer to your modem/router if possible.

How many devices do you have connected to your modem/router? Is NinjaTrader able to connect if less devices are connected to your modem/router?

      Hi Jason

I'm actually using a VPS with Commercial Network Services, so I'm not able to do the suggested things. I have reset the VPS however I might follow up with them if you say there is no problem with the licence servers,

      regards
      Adam

        Hello Adam,

Yes, the license server is up and running. If you install NinjaTrader temporarily on your computer and start it there, is NinjaTrader able to connect to the license server?

Hi, I have a XP with a lifetime NT7 since 4 years ago running ok everyday up today. however, today when I start NT7 I have a mesage when it says that license not found. Could be a problem with the license system en Ninja Trader.
In my network have two pc´s more working with W7 and W10 with license demo of NT7 running ok.

          Thanks

Ditto on the license server issue running on an old XP NT7 machine. Firewall looks good. Internet connection is good (I am on this website). I can connect to KineTick EOD and get stock data.

            Edit:
Also did a NT Restore from Monday nights backup. Everything worked fine Tuesday Morning and Wednesday Morning (NY Time). Issue first happened Wednesday after 5:00 PM NY Time. So guessing what ever changes were made from Wed morning to Wed afternoon are the issue.

I am getting the exact same issue running on some virtual Windows XP machines. It was working fine yesterday, and there are no internet connectivity issues. I have a feeling something changed on your end last night...

Microsoft has dropped support for Windows XP and Server 2003 resulting in updated certificates not being supplied. NinjaTrader has dropped support for this operating system as well.

See the link below for more details. http://ninjatrader.com/support/forum...ad.php?t=83885

There is a temporary manual install of security certifications available below. If the workaround does not work anymore, unfortunately I can only suggest to install NinjaTrader on a supported Windows operating system.

You will need to download the zip file from the link below and extract it to your Desktop.

First, install the three .crt files. To install these files, double-left click and choose "install certificate", follow the prompts to continue, then close the install window once completed -

                gd_bundle-g2.crt
                gdig2.crt
                gdroot-g2.crt

Next, install the three .crl files. To install these file, right-click on the file and select "Install CRL". NOTE: some of these may take up to a minute to install, You will always receive a confirmation box when the installation is complete -

                gdroot2-g2.crl
                mastergodaddy2issuing.crl
                mastergodaddyextendedissuing.crl

I tried the certificate install (something that I had already done before) and it's not working now. I am guessing that your licensing server is hosted with GoDaddy, correct? Can you guys contact them and ask if there is any possible work-around for this at the moment for those of us still using Win XP for NT 7? Thanks!

Hi Jason, I did these steps 1 years ago and all was well up today. Now, after your message I followed your steps again but my NT7 is not work. I have the message saying that the system can´t found the license system. Now my NT7 is not work.

I think the issue persist ...

                    Thanks.

Unfortunately there is no additional solution. If the workaround does not work anymore, you will need to run NinjaTrader on a supported Windows operating system. Windows XP has not been supported by Microsoft for a long time now.

As per the steps in post #8, which asks you to install 'gdroot-g2.crt', please instead use the gdroot-g2.crt file from the link below.

Check if this allows NinjaTrader to connect to the license server when running Windows XP.

                            Hello,

                            Thanks for the reply.

Microsoft has dropped support for Windows XP and Server 2003 resulting in updated certificates not being supplied. NinjaTrader has dropped support for this operating system and it is recommended to upgrade to a supported operating system. See the link below for more details. http://ninjatrader.com/support/forum...ad.php?t=83885

Our team is currently looking into a workaround fix for getting Windows XP working alongside NinjaTrader and we will be sure to update you when more information is available. Thank you for your patience in this matter.
