Data Feed Questions

Using NinjaTrader, I'm looking to trade Nadex Spreads but I have some questions.

1. Is the demo Future and Forex data feeds real time?

2. Is NinjaTrader's Forex data feed a Futures data? Is it from FXCM?

3. What is the difference between your platform and FXCM's MT4 platform?

4. Regarding Questions #2 and #3, according to Nadex its Forex pair Spreads are based on (currency?) Futures. So that is why I need to be working with Forex charts with Futures data. Again, is NinjaTrader's Forex data feed a futures data?

5. Finally, how long is the demo account good for?

1) Yes, the demo accounts for futures and forex trading will provide real-time data.

2) The forex data trial will provide spot forex quotes from FXCM. This is not directly based on an exchange-listed futures contract.

3) The biggest difference between NinjaTrader and MT4 is that MT4 will only support spot forex trading. By contrast, NinjaTrader will allow you to monitor multiple asset classes, like stocks and futures.

4) There are a number of forex futures that trade on the CME. For example, 6E is a CME-listed futures contract for the EUR/USD. This is most likely the type of symbol that NADEX is using. You can register a free futures data trial at the link below:

5) The free futures data trial will last for two weeks.

Thank you very much for the detailed info. I have one more question though. Do you know if the Nadex in house Futures and Forex charts they provide on their website has the same Future and Forex data feeds as NinjaTrader?

Unfortunately we do not have such information listed on our end. Please contact Nadex for clarification on their data source. The NinjaTrader platform loads data as per the connected data feed/broker connection.

For clarity, then you mean NinjaTrader and MT4 support the same spot forex data feed?

Yes, both support FXCM as data feed.

Hi,

I found this thread looking for information about Forex CME Futures data feed.. I am currently running some tests with Forex and NT, so I had originally gone through the URL below and chose "FOREX' option, what started my NT experience..

Although I have some "Futures" indices at the FXCM free data feed I am using now. it appears none of them are CME Forex Futures (bottom image)

So my doubt now is:

Can I sign in again from the URL above ( FreeLiveData) and enter a new NT subscription as "Futures" in "Select your Asset Class" and get a new set of data feed providers that will (most likely) include Forex Futures CME feed? I am concerned I might jeopardize my current Forex FXCM connection if I do this ...(?)

Glad to assist. You may request a Futures demo as well without affecting the Forex demo. Each demo is separate in this regard.
