    Forex.com vs NT Connection Instructions

    All,

    Upon trying to connect to Forex.com with NT7, I followed the connection guide here:



    It appears that this information is not correct, or is no longer valid. I sent Forex.com my "rebrand" form, and waited. And waited. Finally, I contacted them on chat. The transcript is attached.

    The chat support said that I do not need to rebrand my account - that it is not necessary. He said to use the brand code ZECO.

    I haven't had a chance to try this. If it does not work, I will report back. I am using TradeKing as an introducing broker to Forex.com. So, maybe my case is special.

    Thank you for your post.

    We have not been notified of the ZECO brand workaround and are only aware of rebranding your account per the steps listed in the start guide from your post.

    We would advise testing your set up with the updated instructions to see if that works for you.

    Let us know if this is unsuccessful for you, if I receive any additional information regarding GAIN/Forex.com I will update this post.

      The Plot Thickens

      The ZECO brand works. Using this brand code in the Forex.com connection setup in NT7 allows me to connect. I have yet to see if my automated algorithms work under such a connection. Will have to see.

      However, the day after I connected with Forex.com via chat, I finally got a reply to my support ticket to rebrand my account to NinjaTrader. It is worrisome - something that NinjaTrader should be aware of:

      Dear [X],
      Thank you for your email.
      At this time we do not offer NinjaTrader for direct clients, and as such we cannot fulfill this request. However, we are currently in talks with NinjaTrader to see if we can re-establish the previous relationship we had with them in order to offer NinjaTrader to our clients again. Please feel free to check back with us periodically for updates and new developments on that.
      If you have any other questions please email us again or call 1-877-FOREXGO.

      Is this true? With FXCM leaving the US, and IB catering forex only to the wealthy clients ($10M+), any forex offering with NT is scarce. Am I the only one using NT with forex?

      I'd really like to hear NinjaTrader's input on this.

        Thank you for the follow up.

        To clarify-we are aware that FXCM is exiting the US market and is selling its US-based forex accounts to Gain Capital’s retail trading service, FOREX.com.

        We are just not aware of the ZECO code workaround.

        The transfer of US-based accounts is scheduled to occur on February 24, 2017, after 5 PM ET and clients based outside of the US will not be affected.

            Same for me. This week NT is supposed to reveal another brokerage that works with the platform and Forex.. Hopefully it is oanda..
