Good day,
Learning the platform. I would to look at a chart and just do a quick price alerts without having to open the condition box.
For example with IB, there is an alert Icon, click on it draw a line to the price alert i would like to trigger and that's it.
Is there a way to do this with NT8?

Unfortunately no, the only method to set the alert would be via the right click > Alerts option. I will, however, forward a feature request to our development team for future feature consideration regarding the alert functionality you mention.

I can't believe an advanced platform such as NT doesn't have this capability. Even a lot of free charting packages have this.

We really need to have this added if possible...I can't imagine there is too much programming involved. As mentioned, IB TWS has a great little button labelled 'Alert' and when you click it, a horizontal like appears that you can move to the desired place on the chart and click..then the alert is set.7

Would love this (as would 100's of people I am sure) in both NT 7 and 8.

This could be accomplished with a custom coded indicator.

A button could be added, when clicked a drawing object placed, and then in the logic of the script the slope of the line be checked for a cross (similar to the Alert for manually drawn lines indicator logic from NT7 as well as a the Drawing toolbar shortcuts)
