ATM control list changes to '<none>' unexpectedly

How was this issue addressed? Today i have several instances of chart trader issue where the ATM strategy at some undetermined point flipped to none - so i placed an order that wasnt bracketed.
And no i did not change the strategy in the drop down that is an explicit user action.
Was anything fixed in this regard - by the way running 8.0.4 at the moment
    thanks

I moved your post to its own thread as I don't think it is related to what was reported here:

Older versions of the platform are technically unsupported. If there is not a specific reason for you to be using 8.0.4.0 I would suggest upgrading to the latest version (8.0.5.2). Each release contains main fixes and improvements.

To upgrade NinjaTrader, please follow the steps below.
    • First get your license key from NinjaTrader under Help> License Key then exit NinjaTrader
    • Click on the link: http://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
    • Enter your license key and press Submit
    • Select 'NinjaTrader 8'
    • Select 'Download'
    • Critical: Before running the installer, ensure NinjaTrader is closed.

Please let me know if the issue persists after the upgrade.

Hello, i am well aware of the current version being 8.0.5.2 - interesting that you refer to 8.0.4 as an older version - 8.0.2 perhaps ..... Yes i have my own reasons for staying with this release and am keeping track of users who are experiencing various issues with the current newer release. I have actually been 'enjoying' a relatively problem free period of using 8.0.4 and in relation to my own custom development it was important to remain at this release. So naturally given the history of releases i am reluctant to jump up a release unless it is pertinant to do so - when one is live trading i believe that is a wise business and technical choice. What i asked was has there been any related fixes in this area of chart trader as it is not always clear in the release notes with general headings and vague use of language exactly what problems have been addressed. Im sure you appreciate my circumstances given the extremely time consuming nature of testing and upgrading and i have been doing this for over a year since early beta. It takes time to report these occurrences and errors not just for ninjas attention but also for other users who also may still be using 8.0.4 to be alert to them
      thanks

I am not sure if any recent updates would resolve what you're experiencing because I do not fully understand what you're experiencing.

If you give me exact steps to reproduce what you're currently experiencing I can then test the behavior on my end. If I can reproduce the issue, I can then forward this to the Development Team.

If you are unsure of the exact steps, can you go into greater detail regarding the circumstances and actions taken just before the event you're describing?

Additionally, looking into your log and trace files at the time of the occurrence can sometimes be very helpful in diagnosing events.

You can send me these files by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.

Hello simply put in the chart trader panel to the right of the chart - where it shows Atm strategy this was selected to one of my atm strategies. I can see in the log file and in the log panel where this was correctly applied to trades. Then subsequently in the log it shows where i entered a trade and no atm strategy was used - this was the message - i then noted that the atm strategy in the chart trader panel was set to 'none' - this i did not change - this happened twice yesterday and each time i had to reselect the strategy from the drop down list. So as i mentioned in original post the order was submitted without oco bracket of stop and profit target. I will keep an eye on but the log was showing correctly that some non user event reset it to none. Any ideas .... any thread or interaction withint ninja background threads that could cause the atm to be flipped. The fact this has not been mentioned in the log for bugs for 8.0.5.2 suggests this behaviour is still potentially present. That is the scenario and the log confirms this - in this instance i dont see what submitting logs and workspaces would do to help this also given your testing has migrated to 8.0.5.2 - i merely wanted to report this for others to keep an eye on particularly as it involves submitting orders as we know ninja is not yet bug free in these early days. thanks

ATM changes its self to NONE

Yes, I have the same problem and it is extremely annoying! I want my ATM to stay where I set it and never change itself to NONE. I monitor 6 different charts/instruments: ES, NQ, CG, CL, NG, & 6E. I will often set a limit or MIT order at some important resistance zone. This works for the first 1 or 2 charts/instruments. But after the first 1 or 2, I find that all my other charts then automatically set themselves to NONE for the ATM. This occurs regardless of whether any of the orders have actually triggered/opened or not. (I almost never have more than 2 trades actually open at the same time).

Hello, can you confirm you are running 8.0.5.2 ? At the time i was not - but updated a week or so ago ; it is difficult for me to determine if has gone a way completely as i am running a pre release of the next version due to another issue i am experiencing. As you can see there was no follow up on here - i explained that i went through the logs and did not send them into ninja as i pored over them and explained what i saw. Out of interest for context are you running custom indicators ; have you had any OnRender() issues/errors like those being reported in other threads? To my sense given the context of other issues this seems to be at the root of a number of issues which happen randomly in this multi threaded architecture and are not easy to reproduce. But i have not had a repeat incidence of this for about 12 days now - will keep you posted if it occurs again. Also i am using chart trader in a very straight forward way at most two orders at a time on the chart with basic OCO setups.

caverbob, it sounds like this issue is easy to reproduce on a number of your charts or chart tabs. I'd like to obtain your log and trace files for review and then schedule a remote session so we can learn more about what you're experiencing.

Please write into PlatfromSupport[AT]NinjaTrader[DOT]com with a brief summary of what you're experiencing, a link to this forum thread, and reference ticket number 1684665 ATTN Patrick G
