    Export to Excel

    Hello,

I want to export the trades from account performance to Excel. But when doing this there appears "Unable to start Excel or any other application to view a *.csv file."

Can you please help me where to change settings so that the export can be done.

    Thanks and best regards
    Tony

    Hello Tonynt,

    Thank you for your post.

You can likely get the same results by right clicking and selecting Save As...

The file format for the next screen will be .csv files. You can then open up the files in excel.

          Hello Laredo,

Once you have a compiled set of Order records & or Trade history you would like to export:
          1. Right-click (will bring up the options menu)
          2. Select “Export to Excel…”
          3. This will paste the orders/executions data into MS Excel

I have also included a screenshot of the menu item discussed.

Google & OpenOffice are a couple of the “free” spreadsheet programs. However, these are not configured to trigger with the NinjaTrader export command.

              Hello Laredo,

              Thank you for your post.

NinjaTrader can export trade information in .csv format, which you should be able to open with open office. You would use Right Click > Save As > Save to disk, and then use Open Office to view.

                  Hi Laredo,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, you will have to save to disk first and then open that file in Open Office.
