Default How to Best Test Automated Trading

I'm new to the autotrading aspects of NT--I want to test the actual process of submitting orders to my broker--I have Infinity Brokers and a demo account---do I have to buy the full license before I can test this?

((I also have an IB account))

Hi,

Thank you for your post.

You can test this when you have a Sim license as well. NinjaTrader is a free application for advanced charting, market analytics, automated strategy development and trade simulation. We only charge for our product if and when you decide to trade live through any of the over one hundred supported brokers world-wide. The current exception is if you have an account with GAIN Capital/Forex.com where you can trade FX with NinjaTrader for free.

If you want to create an account connection for your Infinity account, you need to follow the instructions from this link:
http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/support_PatSystems.htm

We also support IB and instructions on how to create an account connection with them can be found here:
http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/support_interactivebrokers.htm

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Default Just to Clarify

Thanks. Just to clarify--I want to actually submit orders into my "dummy" or "demo" account at the broker.....to me this is seems like a "live" order but it is in a dummy account (at the broker).

Of course, all of this would be done via an automated strategy not manually.

>>> I want to actually submit orders into my "dummy" or "demo" account at the broker

In that event your would need a regular NT license. Free license is not sufficient.
