Default SMA or EMA viewed like bars not line

Hello,

i looking for this for a long time, and i'am not able to find it. I need SMA or EMA indicator viewed like bars, not line. The point is, that every bar has the color according to its value of previous bar. For instance bar 1 has value 20 and next bar has 22 so this bar will be green (lower value will be red). Is there samething like that? I dont know, maybe it's only option of this indicator, but i can't set it up. Please, can someone give me an advice?

Thank you

Hello Thommie,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the NinjaTrader Support Forum!

Unfortunately, SMA and EMA do not have the features you have inquired about.

However, this is possible through custom programming.
NinjaTrader advanced charting is extensible in that you can create custom indicators using NinjaScript which is based on the modern C# programming language.
For information on programming in NinjaScript please visit the following link: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h..._resources.htm

There is a growing library of user submitted custom indicators (100+) that can be downloaded from our support form. Please look in the NinjaScript File Sharing section of our support forum as you may find what you are looking for there.
NinjaScript File Sharing: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/f...splay.php?f=37

If you have limited time or programming capabilities, you can discuss your requirements with any of our NinjaScript consultants.
For a list of certified NinjaScript Consultants please visit the following link: http://www.ninjatrader.com/partners#...pt-Consultants

For a NinjaScript reference on creating a multi-colored plot please visit the following link: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/f...ead.php?t=3227

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

How can you plot the average as a bar? The average has only one value. A bar needs at least high and low, probably also open and close.

Thommie,

I'm not sure if this is what you mean. Have you tried right-click on the chart and choose Indicators, in the lower left box select your MA, and in the "Plots" area on the right click the "+" and look in "Plot Styles". You can choose a "bar" type in there, or a dot, which I think will address what you're looking for.
