    Using base class of indicator and exporting issue

    Hello

    I develop a pack of indicators and I decided to create the base class for all of them. Something like this:
    Code:
        public abstract class MyIndicatorBase : Indicator
        {
       .............
        }
    When I export my indicators pack (as compiled assembly), NT demands from me to include my base class. Ok, I agree, But then, while importing it failes because of my abstract base class. It does not understand that not all my indicators can be instantiated.

    I looked into cs-file, generated by NT and saw this

    Code:
    namespace NinjaTrader.NinjaScript.Indicators
    {
        public partial class Indicator : NinjaTrader.Gui.NinjaScript.IndicatorRenderBase
        {
    private MyIndicatorBase [] cacheMyIndicatorBase;
    So, it tried to include my base indicator to "public" indicators list.

    I need some attriibute like this:

    Code:
        [SkipExport] <------- Do not include in public indicators list
        public abstract class MyIndicatorBase : Indicator

    Is this possible?

    Hello rfsettling,

    Thanks for opening the thread.

    There is not a SkipExport attribute that could be used to prevent the abstract class from exporting. Additionally, I do not think this would be a valid solution as the Exporter would throw an error to have the dependency included.

    The importation issue with the abstract class is a known limitation and the only work around would be to include the logic directly with the NinjaScript and this would not be possible through a compiled assembly.

    If there is anything else I can do to provide further assistance, please let me know.
