No Data for IQFeed GC Continuous Contract

    Hi

I'm trying to get data to chart for the continuous GC contract via IQFeed. I have the symbol set to QGC and the contract month as ##-##.
This worked fine in 6.5 but in NT7 Beta 5 I initially get data which stops at May 2009 or, when I reload historical data, no data at all.

    Any ideas?

EDIT: just noticed the same is happening on the ES ##-## as well (IQFeed symbol set to @ES).

    Regards,

FatCanary, thanks will check into on my end and attempt to reproduce.

It works for both ES ##-## and GC ##-## on my end here with IQFeed - have you tried resetting instruments and then entering QGC for the IQ map for the GC master symbol (not sure which custom GC symbol you used on your chart).

Then restart NT7 fresh and reconnect to IQFeed and recheck both charts, how many days back were you loading and on which sessions?

        Hi Bertrand

How do I reset the instruments?

I tried using the built in GC symbol and I also have my own custom symbol both have QGC set under the IQ symbol map.

I've used my own custom electronic session template(1800-1715 EST) and the built in CME Commodities session template, both loading the default 365 days.

        Regards.

You can reset your instruments by going to Tools>Options>Data>Reset Instruments.

OK I've reset instruments. When I restarted Ninja and connected to Zenfire I got about 50 error messages, all stacked (see attached #1)!

The chart is also now not updating (see attached #2).

Also, I still get the blank chart for GC ##-## and all I did was add QGC to the IQFeed map (it was empty) under the default GC master symbol. (see attached #3). I also changed the session to 24/5 and still no joy.

EDIT: I've just reloaded historical data for GC 02-10 and that chart is now updating.

                I haven't!

What's with all the error messages and I still cannot chart GC ##-##?
I also still cannot chart ES ##-## nor YM ##-##.

                Regards.

OK, I've no idea what happened but the built in ES ##-##, YM ##-## and GC ##-## now all work fine.
What I have noticed however is that my custom GC ##-## (with the same parameters as the built in GC ##-##) will only load if IQFeed is the first connection.

FatCanary, which other connections do you use and were all mappings entered as needed for the custom symbol you created? The ##-## continuous expiry is supported on eSignal and IQFeed.

                      Hi Bertrand

                      I use Zenfire & IQFeed.

If I connect to Zenfire first then IQFeed, my custom GC ##-## data does not load but the built in GC ##-## loads fine.
If I then disconnect Zenfire, my custom GC ##-## data loads fine. Maybe there's a conflict somewhere and I should just use NT's built in GC continuous contract.

                      Regards.

Having multiple instruments with the SAME mapping definitely would cause issues. Please drop your DB file and start with a fresh setup.

                          Yes, I've already done that.

                          Thanks for all the help.

I've had the same issue again today.

Connect to Zenfire first and then IQFeed: built in ES ##-## now doesn't load any chart data. If I then disconnect Zenfire and reload historical data the ES ##-## chart loads fine.

There's something strange going on here.

Expected, since ZenFire does not support the ##-## continuous contract symbol, only IQFeed would do in your setup thus you need to connect to it first to use it as primary data connection to drive NT.
