Strategy icon in chart does not work

Dear Sir,

I am using NT7 64 bit beta 21. The chart trader is off, yet the strategy icon on the tool bar is grayed and cannot be used to load any strategies. Same also with right mouse command, the strategy command is grayed.

I have attahced a screen shot. unfortunately the right mouse click menu could not be captured with the snipping tool but it is also gray.

Please advise how to get it right. Thanks

Can you please confirm you are showing as connected in the lower left hand corner of the Control Center.

If the issue persists please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with "ATTN: Chris" in the subject line.

Thanks for you prompt reply. No Criss I'm not connected at the time I took the screen shot. But even if I'm not connected to any data service, by hystorical data in saved on the hard disk we should be able to load a strategy for back testing or viewing is it not?

Now I connected NT to IB and strategy icon and the command (right mouse click) are now visible. Thanks.

No problem at all, glad to help.

In order to enable an automated strategy you are required to be connected however when conducting a Backtest within the Strategy Analyzer window you are not required to be connected. When not connected NinjaTrader will calculate your Backtest using the available data within your database.
