    Disappearing lines

    Hello,
Not a major issue but one thats been bugging me for a while...
when i draw grid lines on the chart at numbered intervals (to highlight round numbers) and sometime when drawing trendlines or sup/res lines they will randomly disappear if i zoom out abit and reappear if i zoom out some more.
Any idea what this might be?

    Hi Cube101,

    Thank you for your post.

Can you provide me with the specific steps I would need to take to replicate this behavior?

      for example:
Horizontal grid line interval of 100 on the YM, i have the chart so it fills a screen and if i zoom in and out on the action the lines will dissapear at random points as i zoom. Like i say it not a major problem as i can just zoom out slightly more or zoom in slightly more and they come back?
Just wondered if you had come across this before? could be somthing to do with my graphics set up i suppose?

        Hi cube101,

        Thank you for your reply.

I am not able to replicate this behavior on my end.
Does this persist even in a new chart?

Can you provide me with more information about your graphics setup?

I have this same issue - was a fix ever found? I am aware that it is a wide spread problem with NT6.5. I have learned to live with it but it is a problem.

              Hello lindsayf,

Unfortunately, I am not aware of a fix.

Can you please tell us what steps you perform when you experience such an issue.

In addition, are you able to replicate the issue in NinjaTrader 7?

                The issue persists in NT7.

It's really hard to describe how to replicate, but here it is in action (Orange Trendlines)- http://screencast.com/t/YzI3Mjg5ZWY

I've seen it occur over the year(s) in NT6.5 & now NT7. If I'm not mistaken, it only occurs with lines that extend beyond the visible window.

Try loading a bunch of data, zoom out, draw a lot of lines, zoom back in and scroll. That may duplicate the issue for you.

                Thanks

                  Hi chuckt101,

                  Thank you for your post.

Drawing Objects with >= 2 anchor points can disappear while scrolling when either anchor point is far away from the display range. It is possible to have both anchors off the visible range, but still have the object and as you scroll a little bit then to have the line disappear despite both anchors still being outside the visible range.

                    Thanks for the quick response.

Kyle, I can't tell if you guys are interpreting this as a bug (and is something you will be fixing) or whether this is an intended "feature". I can't think of any good reason why any user would want this...

                    Thanks.

I experience the same issue with horizontal grid lines set via chart properties, but ONLY with the YM contract. Occasionally, half of the grid lines disappear and the other half remain. I've noticed this while using NT 6.5 for the past couple years. Not a huge deal for me, but annoying nonetheless.

                            chuckt101,

This is expected behavior currently and I know of no immediate plans to change the way that drawing objects function.

I'd like to request the behavior be fixed. Anchoring trendlines to multiple charts (i.e. timeframes) is a great feature you implemented in NT7 but it's not very useful if half of my lines disappear or if I have to continuously manipulate them to have them appear.
