Hi, can I program hot keys for Buy Limit and Sell Limit orders while I'm on the Chart?

Thanks for writing in to our Support team.

Yes - you can create custom order hotkeys in order to achieve this.

Go to Tools --> Hot Keys and then select Order Entry. Then, scroll all the way to the bottom until you see the Custom Orders window, click add to define your custom order.

You will also need to ensure that you have the Use order entry hot keys enabled in the Tools --> Options --> Trading section.

Hi Alan, thanks for your prompt response.
I should have been more clear. When I try to create my custom order, I can only select Bid or Ask from the Price menu. What I want to do is to have the Price be where I have my cursor on the Chart, similar to what would be selected if I right click'ed on the chart and selected Buy or Sell Limit.

Thanks for your reply.

In order to achieve this behavior you would have to create a custom strategy which subscribes to mouse events and retrieves the y coordinate on your chart where you clicked and convert that value to a price.

Hello, is there a way to put hotkeys for target and stop loss, once your order is active and has an ATM strategy?
I would like the ability to move the target and stop-loss by 1 tick, 5 tick, or 10 ticks using hotkeys.

There isn't an option to accomplish using Hot Keys. However, you could use the click and click order modification feature to modify your orders.


You can click on the target or the stop and click again at the price you want to move it to. When an order is clicked to initiate order modification, the cursor will change from a pointer to a hand to let the user know that order modification is active.

Thank you for the help, that's what I figured. I have been using the method you explained below, I was hoping to be able to change the targets and stops with the keyboard since I created hotkeys for buy/sell to make everything with the keyboard. I like the current features, just enjoy not having to use the mouse more. Thank you.

Hello, If it's not too late i'd also love the sample code for stop orders based off cursor position. I'm finding it a little bit cumbersome to right click on the chart when i want to get in with one tick to spare. Thank you!
