Forex.Com Demo Account
Hello GibbsB613,
Thanks for writing in to our Support team.
We do not currently have any plans to establish forex.com demo accounts for NinjaTrader 7 and NinjaTrader 8. In the meantime, you will need to use our FXCM demo accounts for forex demos.
Please let me know if I may be of any further assistance.Alan S.NinjaTrader Customer Service

Hello GibbsB613,
Thanks for your reply.
The order handling for your automated trading strategies would be the same when connected to FXCM or Forex.com. You will be able to see Forex.com order IDs in our platform.
Please let me know if I may be of any further assistance.Last edited by NinjaTrader_AlanS; 04-18-2017, 02:23 PM.Alan S.NinjaTrader Customer Service

When I create a position using my connection to FXCM I get strange looking position and order #s. These are not from FXCM, how are they being generated?
1. How do I get the position ID and their related order IDs?
2. Are they static until they are closed?
Thanks!!

Hello GibbsB613,
Thanks for your reply.
There are no position IDs, only order IDs in our platform. The order IDs that are generated in our platform will be different depending on if you are submitting orders via your live account or via the sim101 account. If you are submitting orders via the sim101 account, these orders IDs are generated by our platform. If you are submitting orders via your live account, the order IDs will be provided by your broker.
You can view the related order IDs in both the Orders tab and the Executions tab of your control center window under the ID column.
The order IDs will remain attached to the order until it is closed so that there is a way to identify that particular order from other orders that you have submitted via NinjaTrader, they will not change while the order is still active.
Please let me know if I may be of any further assistance.Last edited by NinjaTrader_AlanS; 04-24-2017, 12:08 PM.Alan S.NinjaTrader Customer Service

Hello GibbsB613,
Thanks for your reply.
I have edited my earlier response for clarification.
And I would also like to correct myself in regards to the Order ID remaining static - it looks like the order can change throughout an order's lifetime with live orders. You will be able to retrieve the order ID in the OnOrderUpdate() method by calling order.OrderID.
You can find more information about the Order object in our help guide here:
http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...n-us/order.htm
You can find more details about how to handle changes with the order ID here:
