Cannot figure out how to set a default to "Days to Load"

    Hi,

I am currently trialing the free version of NT8 with 30 days of free forex data to determine if I want to switch brokers and buy an NT8 license.

I typically open my charts on the daily timeframe, and the default "Days to Load" is is 365 which is fine. When I switch to any minute chart, the "Days to Load" goes to 5 by default. Even if I were to switch to the daily and back to minute, it would reset to 5.

I attempted to find the answer on the forums, but the only thing I found was not on NT8 and they said to right click "Days to Load" in the Data Series window to set the default. I have tried that, as well as right clicking everywhere else, and have not been able to figure out what it was they were talking about.

Is there something obvious I'm missing, or is it due to the fact that I'm using the free version that it doesn't work?

    Thank you for your time.

    Regards,

    Hello enzo_,

    Thank you for writing in,

It sounds like you have found the right steps for NinjaTrader 7. The Days to Load setting is tied to the Data Series > Chart Type (Minute, renko, daily, ect).

To save this to your set value, right click on the minute chart > Data Series. Set the Days to Load setting then select the lower right "preset > save." With this, the new value will be saved when switching back to the minute intervals.

Let us know if we may assist further.

Are you willing to edit some source code?

You can edit the DaysToLoad parameter in the file,

      bin/Custom/BarsTypes/@MinuteBarsType.cs

      then recompile and restart NinjaTrader.

      See attached screenshot.
