missing Microsoft stuff needed for install

Hello, my first post here. I tried to install Ninjatrader 6, and the install seemed to go smoothly, but when I clicked on the shortcut on the desktop, I got a host of error messages, each more bizarre than the last. I found out from some folks at TradersLab that I'm missing some sort of files or programs or something from Microsoft which Ninjatrader requires. Some people used the acronym MDAC, and said I was missng that. Some people said I was missing something called dot NET version 2. I even got a link that was supposed to contain the required files for download, but, being Microsoft, they made the process so impenetrable that I couldn't figure it out. Nowhere on the Microsoft site was a simple "download" button. First, they wanted something do to with "Validation", which in itself was completely incomprehensible to me.

Anyway, if anyone on this support forum can figure any of this out and point me in the right direction, I'd be real grateful.

Can you tell me what error messages pop up when you click on the icon? I need to have specific details from the message. A screenshot would help. Otherwise I suggest to take a look here and see if you have the minimum system requirements to run NinjaTrader:http://www.ninjatrader.com/web/trading_software_support_installationguide.htm

Hi Taz,

The message in the 2nd screenshot indicates that the MDAC is missing.
This needs to be installed and can be done from here:

Thanks, Vince. I visited a friend who had Ninja 6.5 beta on his computer, and he showed me many new (and great) features of the 6.5 upgrade, so I'm just going to wait until you've got the bugs out of it, and try downloading that version. I hope it won't be too TOO long!

Many thanks for the help. Hopefully the MDAC wll work for Ninja 6.5 too.
