Thanks for opening the thread.
OnRender() is used for custom drawing on a chart. It is called every time something on a chart needs to get updated. ChartControl will run a timed event every 250ms in which it should check if it needs to update a chart. If you click and drag on a chart, the chart will constantly have to be updated, so OnRender() is called significantly more during those moments.
You can add a print to OnRender() in a simple indicator to observe the context in which is called.
