    Unable to load ^VIX Chart

    Hi,

I'm running NT 7 latest release on 2 PCs.
When I try to load VIX data on one of the PCs I get an empty chart(attached photo) with no log error. Other instruments are loading correctly and on the other PC the VIX is loading with no problem.
I'm using Kinetick end of day and real time feed and both failed to load the chart. When I compare the Data Manager on both PCs they look the same.
Also when I try to build a strategy and add VIX instrument to the code I get error getting the data.

Please advice what can I do to fix it.

    TX in advance.

    Hello freewind,

Please try setting your Daily charts to the Default 24/7 session template.
    • Right click in your chart and select Data Series.
    • In the Data Series menu, set the "Session Template" property to "Default 24/7", then click OK.

Please let me know if you continue to experience issues.

      Hi Matthew,

Your suggestion solved the Daily chart display problem, but the minute chart still not displaying.
The session is set on both PCs to 'US Equities RTH'.

      Please advise.

        Hello freewind,

Can you please connect to the Kinetick real-time connection as the first connection and create a new VIX minute chart. Check if the minute chart will load the requested data.

If not, do you notice an error message in the Control Center-->Log-tab?

Do you have historical minute data available for the VIX in the Historical Data Manager? If so, please check what happens when you create a VIX minute chart while disconnected from all data feeds in NinjaTrader.

          Hi Jason,

Miraculously is started to work, I don't know why.

          Tx for the support!

Jason - using Kinetick EOD, I am getting an "Uknown Instrument" error when I try to plot the VIX Index.

What is the correct instrument parameter set, please ?

Thank-you so much, Matthew - I had mapped the symbol incorrectly.

What do you mean? Who are you connected to?

I used ^VIX with TDA in NT7. It maps to $VIX.X in TDA.

Hi, I'm having similar problem with VIX.XO of Kinetick.
I cannot download historical data, nor show vix index chart.
                        I get 20013 error.

Could you please let me know how to solve this?
                        Thanks.
