    No prices in right margin

    Good day
I've a chart with no prices in the right margin - or rather, one only, the current price.
    see http://screencast.com/t/H7m88KISce
The settings in properties are the same as in other charts which have no problem.
I've deleted and recreated the chart - still the same.

    Hello sezor,

Can you please right click in the chart and select 'Data Series'. Change the 'Scale justification' setting a few times and check if this will bring back the prices.

If not, could it be the chart uses a chart template? If you create a new chart without a chart template, do you experience the issue? If not and you subsequently apply the chart template, do you then experience the issue?

      Thx

      Thanks Jason
I fixed it by a rt click on margin and a reset.
(Incidentally, the pbm affected all charts created subsequently.)
      I'll note your proposal though.

        Good day
There does seem to be a problem with this. Today I changed
instrument and the right margin became very wide and showed
only 1 price (vs 20 or more under 6e).
A reset fixed it, as before.

Can you please tell me to what instrument you switched.

Are you able to reproduce the issue?

Could it be you are not authorized to load historical data for the instrument in question? If no historical can be loaded, you will only receive realtime data. Initially there is only one price and so the Y-axis scales to that price. As new ticks are received, the Y-axis will include these new prices.

            Ok now

I switched from ES to all 7 USD currency futures then back
to ES, on a CQG feed.
All loaded their 3+ days' data without problem.
I've just redone the same thing and this time there was no
            margin problem.
            Mystery ..
            Thanks all the same.

It appears that NT respects the horizontal gridline interval
settings in the margin properties dialog only if horizontal
gridlines are made visible in the chart properties dialog.
If the latter are made invisible, the interval cannot be
              altered.
              This seems odd.

Sorry I am not quite sure if I understand. If there are no horizontal grid lines plotted in the chart, why would you want to change the horizontal grid line interval?

When I set 'Plot horizontal grid lines' to False in the chart Properties menu, I can still change the 'Horizontal grid lines interval value' setting in the Chart Panel Properties menu. However it does not have any effect because no horizontal grid lines are plotted.

I want to alter the price intervals in the margin, not the lines on the chart.

                    Hello sezor,

The price values listed on the price axis of the chart are controlled by the scaling of the chart.

To show more detailed price values you will need to expand the scaling of the chart.

You can compress/expand the scaling of the price axis by left clicking on the price axis and dragging your cursor up or down.

You can move the price axis up or down without compressing/expanding it by holding the Ctrl key while left clicking on the price axis and dragging your cursor up or down.

                      Thanks Christopher
                      This image shows the problem:

It was taken with horizontal gridlines made invisible in the
                      chart properties dialog.
The price intervals in the margin do not respect the setting
in the margin properties dialog - unless I make horizontal
                      gridlines visible.
                      Have a good day.

                        Hello sezor,

The 'Horizontal grid lines interval type' and 'Horizontal grid lines interval value' setting control where the horizontal grid lines will be plotted.

These settings do not control the prices plotted in the margin.
