subtract 2 instruments

Is there a way to subtract 2 instruments and display with bars?
Something like the indexes ^UVOL and ^DVOL
So I want the difference between the up volume and down volume to be displayed with bars.
Also, is there a way to create custom indexes and display in bars.
Like AAPL + GE + NFLX
or can I do a ratio chart like
AAPL / GE
etc.

Can this be accomplished with a custom instrument or if it's possible with an indicator could you mention how to plot the result like an instrument.

For NInjaTrader 7, there is an indicator on our forum that will allow you plot the difference between two instruments, though this was displayed as a line and not candlesticks. Our NinjaScript team is working on converting the NinjaTrader 7 forum indicators over for use with NinjaTrader 8, though this one has not been completed yet.

This would not be possible in the Bar Type, you would need to create as an indicator.

I was only asking about the bar type because of Eric B's response.

Do you have any suggestions on how to go about creating an indicator that would plot the result of one instrument minus another? Something like a candlestick plot of ^UVOL - ^DVOL.

I've created a few NT8 indicators and strategies but I'm still getting up to speed with the changes so any help would be appreciated.
