Will be addressed by NT7 as well as a new option on the charts.
To clarify: NT7 will have an option where you actually would see a gap as e.g. there would be no trade on a particular minute of a 1 minute series.

However, NT7 will not "build bars out of nothing", meaning there would not be a bar as there would not be a trade, but you would see a gap on chart (optional)

      Dierk,

To clarify: If this option is selected (ie, gap on chart but no bar) how will an indicator's value be calculated for this gap? Say a 20 period MA where one bar ago there was no trade but we have selected the option to see the gap. What will the value of this "gap but no bar" be in NT7?

        - Plotting a gap is a visual option
        - The underlying data series of values is the same whether you visualize the gap or not
        - Thus, if visually you see 9:00, 9:01, 9:02, 9:04, 9:05 bars, you will see a gap at 9:03 but there is no underlying data point for this so you will see your MA connect points from 9:02 to 9:04

I also think it is a much better approach to delay the release for a more stable debut than have a torrent of potential bug-finding posts deluge the forum.

Will NT7 recalculate all indicators when an new indicator is added or one on the chart has it's parameters altered? NT6.5 recalcs everything on the chart over again rather than just the single modified indicator, which makes me lose some live-data-only calcs at times.

Thanks Ray. So, are you saying that there will be no value for this gap in the dataSeries? In other words if we print the bar numbers in your example above do we have:

            9:00 BarNo 1000: 9:01 BarNo1001; 9:02 BarNo1002; 9:04 BarNo 1003; 9:05 BarNo1004 ?

NT7 will operate the same way as 6.5 does.
