Importing More than OHLC Fields

Hi,

I want to import data that's in CSV (EOD data). My data containts below data fields:

date, Open, high, low, close, volume, number_of_trades, delivery_qty, no_of_shares, weighted_price

So as you can see my data has more fields than the usual OHLC data.

1) Can i import this data in NinjaTrader?

2) If yes, can I use any of the above fields in coding, strategies, Charting?

I would be the most disappointed user of Ninjatrader if your answer is "No".

This is a very standard feature of any charting tool to let user import array of fields than usual OHLC.

Unfortunately not. You can only import historical data that uses the format listed at the link below under 'Understanding import file and data formats'.

I do not even know how to even react hearing such a basic thing lacking in Such a Software.

Then it's just not for me.

Have you guys never even thought from a User Perspective? I would not believe if you say No body asked for it.....

I will forward the suggestion to support importing historical data in different formats to development to put it on the list of possible future enhancements.

So your Format is:
yyyyMMdd;open price;high price;low price;close price;volume


But my whole data EOD for past 3 years for 6000 Symbols is in One single file.
So my format is:
Symbol;yyyyMMdd;open price;high price;low price;close price;volume

Now how the heck can i import such ASCII into Ninja 7?

Unfortunately you cannot import historical data for multiple instruments at once through one file. You can only import historical data for one instrument at a time. The .txt file needs to have the same name as the instrument. For example:

AAPL.Last.txt
YM 12-15.Last.txt
$EURJPY.Bid.txt

Sorry to say but this is a very thoughtful product design.

not because it does not fit into my requirement, but I think the "So called' tool is missing the most basic infrastructure.

It is possible to import historical data in different formats in NinjaTrader 8 using custom Import Types programmed in NinjaScript.
