    ES December Roller Issue

    Good morning,

This is the first time I've had this issue. Previously, I followed this instruction to rollover to a new month:

    1) From within the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Instrument Manager
    2) Highlight the contract you wish to rollover in the left side of the Instrument Manager window
    3) Press the ">" button (the instrument will disappear from the list)
    4) Press the "<" button and the instrument should re-appear with the front month expiration date

However, having issue with rolling over to December contract. Specifically, #4 is not working. ES doesn't re-appear with the front month (Dec) expiration date.
I tried to manually select the front month. However, every time I exit and start NT again, the chart doesn't work (no bar painted).
    Please advise.

    Thank you.

    Hello copa8,

    Thank you for your post.

Can you tell me which version of NinjaTrader you are currently using? You can find this information from the NinjaTrader Control Center > Help > License Key...

If you are using NinjaTrader 7, the version number should appear as below. I will need to know the last two digits of this number:
    • 7.0.1000.XX

I look forward to assisting you.

        Hello copa8,

        Thank you for your reply.

You are using an older version of NinjaTrader 7, which may not have the correct rollover dates for the December 2017 futures contracts. To resolve this, please follow the steps below to update to the latest release of NinjaTrader 7 and then reset your instruments:
        • First get your license key from NinjaTrader under Help> License Key then exit NinjaTrader
        • Click on the link: http://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
        • Enter your license key and press Submit
        • Select 'NinjaTrader 7'
        • Select 'Download'
        • Critical: Before running the installer, ensure NinjaTrader is closed.

Next, use the steps below to reset your instruments:
        • Disconnect from your data feed: NinjaTrader Control Center> File> Disconnect> Select your data feed
        • Reset your Instruments: NinjaTrader Control Center> Tools> Options> Data tab> Reset Instruments>OK
        • Restart NinjaTrader> Connect (NinjaTrader Control Center> File> Connect> Select your connection

Once you have followed these steps to update your instrument settings, you should be able to roll over futures contracts by following the standard rollover instructions.

Let me know if I may be of further assistance.
