    decimals on Volume

    Hi

I want to import historical data where the decimals on the volume cannot be neglected or rounded. My trades volume range might be from 1000 to 0.0001.

What is the recommend instrument configuration in order to plot correctly and be able to create orders from my strategies?

Only whole numbers can be used when importing volume data. You can learn more about importing historical data and the necessary formats in the link below:

Can you tell me more about this volume which has a decimal value? Is it shorthand for a larger number? For example, does 100.005 = 100,005,000?

In either case, your volume would need to be converted to a whole number value.

not sure what you mean by this

for example I have trades with volume 0.5, 0.752, 10, 0.1, 100 What I am doing now is I multiply by 10000 however this means that my order quantity should be times 10000 and as you can understand Analyzer results will be times 10000. So I wonder if there is another way to make NT8 behave?

Trades in NinjaTrader must be whole numbers and therefore volume data must also be whole numbers.

What is the source of the volume data you're referring to?

What instrument type is it? For example, future, forex, equity, option, etc.

        What specific instrument(s) is it?

You would need to multiply your volume values until they always equaled a whole number. Unfortunately, decimal values are not supported for volume data import.

Zero or a positive integer must be used for your volume value.

                For example: 0, 1, 500, 4,982, etc.
