    Failed to call OnRender()...External component has thrown an Error

    Hi,

    I recently added some logic to draw additional lines on 4 charts and started getting this error.
    Has happened at least 6 times in the past 2 hours.

    Failed to call OnRender() for chart object 'Line': 'External component has thrown an exception.'

    It does not happen everytime I run my strategy, sometimes it occurs when I reset the playback and sometimes when running the strategy in playback. I am playing back at max speed.

    Is this a failure of my hardware?

    I would not suspect a failure of your hardware. Please send me your log and trace files so that I may look into what occurred. You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support.

    Please list 'ATTN: Patrick H' in the subject line and reference this thread in the body of the email.

      Was there any resolution to this issue? I am seeing this particular error daily and it causes a crash or at least a freeze.

      I would like to add that for me it started about 2 minor releases ago (~3 months ago). I was not seeing this exact error although i was seeing others.

      And another user is seeing it:


      Video Card is Nvidia GeForce 210.

        Thank you for your post.

        This has been reported and development is looking into this error. Previously certain scenarios that would generate this error were resolved, but it appears not all scenarios have been resolved. I have added your notes to our internal reporting for this error.

        Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

              I think the latest build (8.0.7.0) may have fixed this nasty bug! That was by far the worst one for me. Nt8 hasn't crashed for 3 long sessions. Fingers crossed I'm not just getting lucky so far.

              Please send a thank you to whoever debugged that one!!
