Another nice feature of the Strategy Analyzer (in both NT7/8) is the ability to quickly try different parameter settings and click "Run" without having to do the arduous 7-step "ClickStrategyIcon-SelectActiveStrategy-UncheckEnable-ClickApply-ChangeValue-CheckEnable-ClickOkay" process that is required on a regular chart. As you can imagine, when rapidly changing and tweaking parameter values, the “7-step” process is time consuming and disruptive to workflow.
A typical use-case during the strategy development is the process of reviewing each trade and being able to modify parameters quickly on the fly to get a feel for the strategy behavior and sensitivity to different input values on varying market conditions.
Both the NT7 and NT8 Strategy Analyzers make it easy to change the parameters, however when new parameter settings are rerun, it resets the chart to display at the last bar rather than the area of the chart last viewed, requiring the user to undertake the tedious task of scrolling back to the area of the chart under review. Unfortunately, the workflow gains made by using the Strategy Analyzer and avoiding Enable/Disable are undone given the need to scroll back to the desired section of the chart.
It would be very useful if the Strategy Analyzer chart acted more like a regular chart in this one regard. If you scroll back to a previous section of a chart and F5/Reload the strategy, the Chart will remember its previous horizontal position and not auto-scroll to the last bar.
I would not suspect much of an objection to this request since a regular chart behaves this way but would be interested to know if anyone has a strong preference to have the SA Chart always scroll to the hard-right edge.
