    NT 8.0.4 Chart Trader Problem

Since I've upgraded to 8.0.4, the Chart Trader runs into the following problem (entry execution of ATM missing):

I've deleted your database "NinjaTrader.sdf" and it helps:

But the problem comes back again, after some trades. The big problem is, that not only the entry order is not shown, but the Chart Trader did not recognize it at all. When I hit "Close" the stop and profit orders are deleted, but the entry execution is running in the background and you don't see it and it is not covered from any stop.

Please check and fix it in the next release - I will use 8.0.3.1 so long. So whatever your developers changed between the prior versions and 8.0.4, should fix it.

If these are live orders please remember to always reach out to your broker's orders desk first whenever any unexpected live order behavior occurs so you can confirm and manage your live positions/orders.

    Please answer the following questions:
    • Is this happening with live orders or simulated orders?
    • Who are you connected to?
    • What instrument are you trading?
    • When is the last time that this occurred?
    • Could you provide me exact steps on how to reproduce this behavior?

It would be best for me to get a good look at your files when this was occurring. You can send me these files by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support.

Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.

Please reference the following ticket number in the body of the email: 1662917 ATTN Patrick G

Please also include a link to this forum thread in the body of your message.

Believe me if such weird things come to my mind the next and only window is the one from my broker.

Is this happening with live orders or simulated orders?
      Live

      Who are you connected to?
      IB

      What instrument are you trading?
      In this case FDXM

When is the last time that this occurred?
      Yesterday

Could you provide me exact steps on how to reproduce this behavior?
No. Only trading with an ATM - the same way as I did with all NT8 versions before.

I will not waste any more time on this and use 8.0.3.1 so far. When I have time in the future, perhaps I will send you my database file when it happens again, then you can play around. And its only related to the DB, even when I restart NT, the problem will be there for every following ATM. Don't know what your developers are doing there, but crashing every new ATM because there is a logical problem with the DB, seems really weird.

I am not aware of other reports of the behavior you're describing, so it would be incredibly helpful for us if you could send us your diagnostic files so we can learn more about the root of the issue. I am not asking you to change back to 8.0.4.0 but simply to send your log and trace files so we could look into the detail of what occurred. These files will contain the information for the last 20 days by default regardless of what version you're using unless you manually removed the documents > NinjaTrader 8 folder when reverting.

Another thing to keep in mind specifically with Interactive Brokers and FDAX/FDXM is that there is currently a known limitation with Interactive Brokers in NinjaTrader that only the FDXM or FDAX instrument may be used at one time, and not both at the same time. By default, the FDXM will be disabled.

Can you confirm that you've made the adjustments below?
        • From the Control Center, navigate to Tools -> Instruments.
        • Search for FDXM.
        • Once found, click FDXM and select "edit".
        • Scroll down to the Symbol Mapping for Interactive Brokers and delete the "-disabled" part of this Parameter.
        • Click "OK" to save your changes.

Once this is done, please disable the FDAX instrument.
        • From the Control Center, navigate to Tools -> Instruments.
        • Search for FDAX.
        • Once found, click FDAX and select "edit".
        • Scroll down to the Symbol Mapping for Interactive Brokers and add in the "-disabled" just after the instrument name. This will look almost exactly like the FDXM instrument did before.
        • Click "OK" to save your changes.
