Question to USERS of Windows 7 x64 with Zen. Cant connect!

I was almost the first person who reported on these forums that NT works under Windows7 x64 RC. However I didnt have Zen fire connection at that time.

Now I need to test few bits of code with Zen and it appeared that I cant connect to Mirus using Windows 7 x64.

I tried suggested sequence (delete account, repair db, recreate account) but it doesnt help. I asked NT for supposrt and they did remote session but couldnt help, I run NT under Administrator account and I tried "Run As Administrator" and "Run in compatibility mode : XP SP2" - doesnt help.

I csn connect to Patsystems alright, I asked a friend to test my Mirus login - itworks on his XP 32.

Anyone uses Zen under Windows 7 x64 ? Any word of advice?

I do. Have no problems at all.
I use it with 32 bit NT, but under Win 7 x64 bit.

real weird. I tried new W7 install with only NT on it and it still doesnt work.

I am talking NT6.5.1000.9 which is always 32-bit (as I understand 6.5 has no 64 verson, is that right?)... Windows 7 Ultimate, no antivirus, no defender.

Correct, there's no NinjaTrader 6.5 64 bit version - NinjaTrader 7 will add support for this then.

Have you tried with the latest 6.5.1000.14 NT release?

Yes I had a clean install of Win7 64 on another partition and I installed the latest NT 6.5 (which is 6.5.1000.14) few hours ago and I run it under Administrator account with Run As Administrator and Compatibility Mode XP SP 2 and has the same behaviour like all my previous attemtps.

maxima, will see if I can reproduce here but so far not aware of issues in this regard - which is the exact error you get (if any?) or does it just get stuck in the connection process?

yes it simply hangs. nothing in the log file...

but wait a minute. I have email from the support. I am going to do what they asked (diagnostic tab) first and see if I can get more information..

I had to install another copy of Windows 7 x64 fresh... And voila! Ninja connects to Zen no problem!

The other 2 attempts using Win7 failed I think only because I had to stop some services (was optimizing them for X_Trader).

I nailed down the exact problem:

If you run this command your ZenFire gonna die:

netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=experimental

To clarify: Are you saying you had run the command below in order to get X-Trader working? And after running this command ZenFire no longer did work?

If so: what "reverse" command did you issue in order to get ZenFire working again? Thanks

I assume you are using windows 7 home edition, correct?
I thought that NT will work only with windows 7 pro due to its XPM ( windows XP mode ). If you got it to work with home edition my congratulations and thank you. I'm in desparate need of a new laptop and today it is very hard to get it with XP installed ( windows 7 by default ). Thanks again.
