All custom sound files gone

I had created about 20 custom sound files when I was using Beta 15 and when I installed Beta 16, they are all gone...

You may want to mention this in your release notes. If it mentioned something about losing custom sounds, I missed it. I often forget that sounds is in the program file and not in the documents file. Is there a way to get that moved to the documents file?

I looked in my recycle bin and it says ninja7 Program files but it doesn't open up to give me access to the sounds folder.

Anyway to get them back?

Thank you for your post.

Since customizing sound events is not supported, this would not have been mentioned in the release notes.

I know of no way to restore these files automatically. You would need to recreate these customizations manually.

Please note if you still have the folder in your recycle bin you can just drag the whole directory out of the recycle bin and then grab whatever you need out of there. You cannot access folders that are still in the recycle bin, but you can once it is out of there.

need help - b16 errors

Josh,

I've got a problem... here are the steps I just took:

I was concerned that if I "restored" the Ninja 7 beta program file with Ninja 7 beta 16 program file active it would create problems so I:

1. uninstalled Beta 16 using all of the steps mentioned in the release notes (for people moving from 15).

2. restored the program folder and copied my old sounds folder to my desktop.

3. re-deleted the program file

4. double clicked my existing beta 16 setup file on my desktop and reinstalled NT7-16

5. Opened NT7-V16 again
6. Got lots of errors as the charts opened

What should I do?
I can send you the trace file.
I had thought of starting over with the Beta16 instructions but I think I did all of it correct this time. Not sure why I'm getting the errors.

In the message, please include the following:
1.) A link to this forum thread.

2.) Your most current trace file.
You will find the trace file in the My Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
Today's trace file will be named 'trace.20100527.txt'.

Backup your stuff out of Ninja folders

And copy it to the Ninja folders after every clean install of Beta 7.xx . In case of indicators/strategies copy *.cs files and recompile, in case of custom sounds just copy to ....\sounds folder.
