    What Data is being used?

When doing back testing on, let's say, the EURUSD pair, what data is being used and from where does it come from? My broker is FXCM so is all of the historical data coming from them and is it being computed at the tick data level? Also, is it pulling data off of the internet while testing or is the data stored locally on my machine?

    Thanks!

    Hello rbruce,

    Thank you for your post.

The data is stored on your PC after being downloaded from your data provider - in this case FXCM.

When running a backtest or optimization, if you are connected to the data provider and the To Date is set to the current date, the Strategy Analyzer will request the latest data from the provider.

For information on Historical Data please visit the following link: http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...ta_manager.htm

Please let me know if you have any questions.
