    quantity, what does it mean?

    Hi

I just wish to clarify the usage of "quantity" within strategy development and NT8.

If I create a strategy and use against currencies e.g. GBPUSD, EURUSD etc then should I use values such as 100,000 or does the value 1 equate to 1 lot of 100,000?

If I then swap this over to futures contracts is it different?

In futures I tend to think in terms of 1 lot/contract per entry and not 100,000.

    Hello,

    Thank you for the post.

Yes, this is correct, for forex instruments you would want to use the lot size you want to trade. If 100,000 is what you want to trade, you would enter 100,000 as the quantity.

For any other instrument such as futures where you have a contract size, you would enter 1 or the quantity for a number of contracts.

I look forward to being of further assistance.
