    Exporting saved data?

    Hi All,

Firstly, sorry if this has been asked before. I did do a search and didn't find anything that really helped me.

Anyway, I've saved every days trading session from early march until now so I can replay them to practice and test. Now I need to reformat my HD and don't want to lose it all. So how do I export it all and save it so I can load it back up once I'm up and running again?

    Cheers,

I suggest to create a backup of all your settings using the instructions at the link below.

Save the file on a disc, external harddrive, etc. Paste the file back in the NinjaTrader Backup folder after the reformat and re-installing NinjaTrader. Instructions to restore your settings can be found at the following link.

        Hey Jason,

I've added my back up file to the backup folder. However when I go to restore it doesn't come up in the pop up box. It's as though there is no back up file in the back up folder.

        Any suggestions?

        Cheers,

P.S: Tried to upload the file so you could see if it was ok but it is over 700meg so couldn't.

Can you please check you pasted the backup file at My Documents-->NinjaTrader Backup.

You have multiple Backup folders perhaps under My Documents?

Try a reboot of your computer and check if the file is now available upon restoring.

            Hi Jason,

Yes that fixed the problem. I had installed pasted the file into the backup folder in the Ninja Trader programs folder and not the one in My Documents.

            All good now.

            Cheers,
