    Trouble downloading indicator

    Hello,

A fairly basic question for you all but I am having trouble downloading the Beacon Trader indicator into NT7. I go through the process in Control Panel - File/Utilities/Import NinjaScript which is fine but then it opens a new window and I can't seem to go from there (see attached). What is the next step please?

    Thanks

    Pete.

    You may be confused.
The Control Center doesn't do that kind of downloading.

You don't use NT itself to download indicators.
"Import" is a Control Center command that requires the file already exist somewhere on your PC.

You'll need to download the indicator yourself beforehand.
Indicators are downloaded off the internet just like any other file, nothing special.

The 3rd party indicator you download is (usually) a simple .zip file.
It is this downloaded .zip file that you then import into NT using Control Center.

The dialog screenshot you attached is meant for you to navigate/find the folder with the .zip file that you downloaded -- then you select the .zip file to import it.

          Hello PeterMcL,

Thanks for your posts, welcome to the forums!

Thanks to member bltdavid for his assistance.

It sounds like the issue is resolved. For future reference here is a basic guideline of how to Import NinjaScripts.

To import NinjaScripts you will need the original .zip file.

          To Import

Download the NinjaScripts to your desktop, keep them in the compressed .zip file.

From the Control Center window select the menu File> Utilities> Import NinjaScript

          Select the downloaded .zip file

NinjaTrader will then confirm if the import has been successful.
Critical - Specifically for some NinjaScripts, it will prompt that you are running newer versions of @SMA, @EMA, etc. and ask if you want to replace, press 'No'

Once installed, you may add the indicator to a chart by:

Right click you chart > indicators > Select the Indicator from the list on the left > New > OK
