ZC instument rollover date is wrong

    ZC instument rollover date is wrong

    ZC rollover for the current expiry is wrongly set to zc 06.It should instead be zc 05.
    I tried instrument reset .Even that does not help.
    Please look into this

      It appears that your reporting this matter to the team which manages it,has produced no results.I request you to please follow it up and get this matter corrected.
      Shouldnt be so difficult to correct such a small error !!

        Thank you for your reply and follow up,

        You will need to manually edit the contact months for the time being, for this to change in the NinjaTrader 7 it requires an platform update, and there has not been one yet. Plans for updates are not publically available.

          Hi Eric,

          I have the same problem. To delete it or setup a custom contract (for May) does not solve the problem since this contract does not exist at the exchange but it exists on the Ninjatrader servers.

          NT7 always inserts the ZC 06-17 contract again when restarting the software.

            Hi, I've come across the same issue since many time ago, it's annoying that Ninjatrader, which is mainly known for futures trading, lacks a proper futures rollover management, even in the brand new 8 version, allowing deleting incorrect contracts, and rolling over on open interest, volume or both.

            Yes, it's impossible to delete the ZC 06-17. In the meantime I added the 05-17 expiry (rollover 21-2) 7.25 offset), the merged backadjusted chart seems correct.

              Hello Support,
              this topic is pending since 2 weeks now. As far as I understand the contract information on NT servers need to be updated, not the software itself. When can we expect this?

                To clarify, the instrument information in NinjaTrader 7 is included in the database file and requires a product update in order to be changed. This is not the case with NinjaTrader 8.

                Because you are using NinjaTrader 7, you'll need to manually update the instrument until a product update is released.

                  If I understand correctly this also means that contract and rollover information will be available in NT7 only until the development or maintenance of this version will be performed (since NT7 does not have access to the same data source as NT8 regarding contract definitions)?

                    That is correct, yes, contacts/rollovers in NinjaTrader 7 require an update.

                        Hello Eric,

                        thanks for the update. It is the same on my side. Expiration 06-17 is imported again into the symbol ZC anytime I restart NT7 (but it does not exist at the exchange).

                        Does this mean that the expiration tables are coded (but editable) in the NT7 installation? Or are they downloaded from your servers at startup?

                          In NinjaTrader 7, these are reverted at startup depending on the version, so this is why you're seeing the edits revert.
