building own continuous chart in NT (Data Storage and backfill in NT)

Hello,

i want to feed 1 minute data from e-signal into NT, as e-signal only ever provides 60 days of intra-day data on the markets i trade.

therefore, i want to feed the 1 minute data into NT and store it locally on my PC, and then back it up every week or so often. can this be done in NT?

also if my internet connection goes offline say for 1 entire day, when it goes back online will the data missed for that 1 day be backfilled in NT? is there a button to press that causes backfill in NT to occur, or does it happen automatically? is there sometimes any problems that occur in NT due to the backfill not working properly?

Hi,

Yes you can store data by checking the store real time data function.

Go to tools--> Options --> check "store real time data.

You can backup information by using our backup and restore function.

If your connection is lost and you missed a day of data it will be backfilled by the eSignal data feed. There won't be any special steps needed for this to get backfilled because it will happen automatically. We do not receive many inquiries involved with the backfilling of data.

So basically all data I chose to have in the chart will be available later on, and these data will be available with the data that come from the data feed provider, and if I refresh historical data, only the one from data provider at that time will be reloaded, the older datas will come from the computer?

If the computer is formatted, all I can get is from the data provider?

Let's say the maximum days I can get is 100 days, 5 days passed, I chose to show 105 days, the oldest 5 days are from my pc, the 100 are from data provider, and they will be combined in one chart?

Correct. If you want to format your computer you can first use the Backup Tool to save your database so you don't lose your data.
