    microsoft net framework?

We are suppose to install Microsoft .NET Framework v2.0

What will happen if Microsoft .NET Framework v2.0 Windows XP wants to update to 3.5?

Will it still works or do i have to forbid windows xp from updating the Microsoft .NET Framework v2.0 ?

    Frank
    thank you

    Hello frankduc,

    Thank you for your post.

There are no issues with running .NET 3.5 as well.

.NET 2.0 is just the minimum requirement to run the software.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

      To be more exact:

.NET 3.5 IS .NET 2.0 with additional functionality - that, in addition, is nicely packed up in separate assemblies (dll's). So, technically, a .NET 2.0 application still uses .NET 2.0 - the 3.5 assemblies never get loaded.

The numbering convention of MS is ridiculous on that one particular item.
