about 30% of the time when I change the instrument being displayed in a chart of a SuperDom I get a window that says:

"Please Wait"
Retrieving data for $xxxxxx (a Forex pair)

The only way to clear this is to shut NT down. Why does this happen and what can I do to prevent it?

Which provider are you connected to? GAIN?

Downloading historical data from GAIN can take very long. Although, GAIN only supports 1 day of lookback data the data is available as tick data only.

Yes, Gain is my provider. However, I have a program that monitors network traffic, and it shows that no data is being transmitted across the network when I get this message. Also, at times, I've left the PC for a couple of hours and the dialog box does not go away and charts do not get generated.

Is this NT5? Would you be willing to try NT6, we have made some changes that I believe may resolve this.
