Default Candlestick wick color

Can there please be an option to color up and own candlestick wicks differently, eg. green up, red down ?

Thanks,

J.

Yes, this is supported using 'CandleOutlineColor'. More information can be found at the link below.

Thank-you, Jason : how do I "not set" the CandleOutlineColor property, please (I do not see how to do this in the Chart Properties input box) ?

You should see the option in the chart Properties menu as 'Candle outline'.

I suggest to set it to transparent if you do not want a candle outline to be displayed.

No, I DO want the wicks displayed, but in the same color as the candle, so it looks like the best charts of them all (images attached or comparison). Hmm...no images try again... no too big for tis forum, image resizer is on different computer, so no images..... but I hope you understand me ?

In any event, I see what it says about the wicks coloring as per the candle body (ie. EXACTLY WHAT I WANT) if I "do not set the CandleOutlineColor". So how do I do this, please ?

Exact wording from User Guide :

" * If you set the BarColor property and the CandleOutlineColor property is not set, the outline color will take the color set by the BarColor property."

Hello jtrade,

You would select the same color selected for the bar color.

And there lies the problem : I want green wicks for my green candles, and red wicks for my red candles ... just like TradeStation ;o) , hence my request.

Thanks for the link eDanny - I know you write good code.

I found your post earlier today when I searched the forum prior to posting : I am a trader, not a programmer and haven't got a clue how to use code to change the candles on my charts !

I was rather hoping that NT might include my simple request as part of their steady improvement of their software... ?

Tell me EXACTLY what you want and I'll post a little indicator that will do it. "EXACTLY" means specific colors and if you want solid candles or 'hollow up' trend candles.

I will forward your suggestion to support this functionality by default to our development team and ask them if they can add this to the list of future considerations for the software.

Thank you for your feedback and thank you eDanny for referencing the forum thread and helping out by offering to create a custom indicator.

Thank-you for this great offer, eDanny !

I would like :

Up candles to be hollow body, Lime outline and wick
Down candles to be solid Red body, Red outline and wick.
If possible candle body color, outline/wick as User inputs (but not if a pain to code...)

It should then look as on the attached TS8 chart.

And thanks also to Jason !

Ok here it is, you might want to change candle outlines to 2 pixels in chart properties. Also made doji colors according to which way they were rejected from.

Edit: Shortened and simplified code a bit. Renamed so others can have a generic name for the indicator.

It's really very simple....

eDanny : U DA MAN !

Thank-you so much - perfect implementation. This should be made publicly available imho, as it greatly improves the standard Ninja candles.

J.
