Thanks but this code has been floating around for awhile and I use it in all indicators that will influence candle colors. It's simple to modify downloaded indicators that color candles solid whether rising or falling. VPAAnalysis, for example, is a good one to change.

Ok got a request for Blue up candles and red down candles with the up candles being solid. Here is an indicator that will let you select between hollow or solid up candles.

Default agree

This is extremely important for me.
I use red bars with red candles for down
and white bars with white wicks for up

no outlines on my candles

just red and white

white bar and white wicks for up
and red for down.

I still cannot figure this out?

How do I use downloaded indicators

Sorry for knowing nothing...

Man, exactly what I was looking for. The chart eye-appeal had been keeping me from using Ninjatrader. And with a black background, the wicks/outline were making the candles look flourescent and annoying. Thank You.

Edanny, you're the man. :P The wick color thing is really great in the Hollow Candle indicator. Just wondering if you could make it so the color can be customized? I opened up the cs file and see where the color is assigned, but I am a newbie and last time I tried to compile something it was a big mess. Or I guess I can just type in my own color and re-import? But I like to change candle colors a lot--just keeps me from zombie-ing out in front of the screen. I will work on it though, but really would appreciate it if you could do that.

eDanny,

This was something I've been searching for a while. Thanks for making it available to us all. It's definitely much easier on the eye to have the wick same color as the bar when staring at it for 7 hrs a day. One question on the Hollow indicator: I went in the code and changed whenever it said Blue for Green and saved it, but the color doesn't change once i reload the indicator on my charts. Even if the code says green, the bars still shows blue. Am I missing something? I just happen to prefer green over dark blue bars. Thank you. I'm getting closer and closer to dumping TS.

Default This goes a ways back

I just downloaded the indicator and did a quick rework. Now the colors are selectable and should also stick if you save in a workspace. Dan

I noticed that the up bars are hollow, but the down bars are filled. Is there any way to make both hollow at the same time?

Thanks

Just edit the code. Find BarColor = and change the color variable to Color.Transparent.
