Point-Original-bars

There was a post in the forum with code to plot PointO bars. I can no longer find that post but it was also posed here:

I found PointO bars useful & wrote some indicator that took advantage of them so I wanted to use them in NT7.

Importing this code to NT7 fails so I thought I would just copy the .cs file from NT6.5 and compile it.

there are 10 errors - the first 8 are similar to this:
'NinjaTrader.Data.PointOType.Add(NinjaTrader.Data. Bars, double, double, double, double, System.DateTime, int, bool)': no suitable method found to override

The next 2 are similar to:
'NinjaTrader.Data.PointOType' does not implement inherited abstract member 'NinjaTrader.Data.BarsType.ApplyDefaults(NinjaTrad er.Gui.Chart.BarsData)'

Questions:
Can you please add PointO bars to NT7?? This would be great!!

Is there information about how to code a new bar type?

If I read the code for an existing bar type - say range bars - is that likely to be educational about how to do it.

Please post your issue on the right forum. I just moved your post to where it is now.

On the issue: Please contact the author of the PointOType. He needed to amend his work to get it working in NT7.

Unfortunately coding a new bar type is beyond the scope of what we could provide support for.

The Author's reply is he will consider it when NT7 is released.

I love the point-o as well, won't trade without it at this point, but the author is in the process of changing his platform to multicharts, so I am thinking someone else will have to port it over to nt7.
