Question regarding the NTDirect DLL calls to bid and ask playback. Are these calls synchronous or asynchronous?

Not sure how else to ask that question.
If Ninja trader took 1 minute to process 1 tick of information would my calling program sit there and wait on calling BidPlayBack until NinjaTrader was done or would it return immediately. |

The calls will return pretty much instantly.
