Matt,

IB executions are amongst the slowest on SFE, they also host the most unreliable platform.

As a result cheap actually = very expensive.

I have a IB account (with no problems so far), but have also recently signed up with BrokerOne (www.brokerone.com.au).
I am busy ironing out some minor problems with the connection. When you connect to the SPI, make sure you change the default exchange from SNFE to SFE.
Because BrokerOne (Patsystems) don't provide historical data, I use IB for that. I have not worked out how to have BrokerOne as my first connection, and IB as my second connection (for historical data), because the same instument (SPI) uses different exchange names for each broker, i.e., SFE and SNFE.

Hi All,
Regarding using Ninja Trader with an Australan Broker , ie, have the money held in a bank account in Australia, I am at present disussing this with Richard Pope at Man Financial Australia. (MF GlobaL)+61 (2) 8273 8846
I am ay present using IB data and IB as the broker . I have had only good comments to make about IB , but the volume data from IB , is
very inaccurate. I am hoping to have Ninja Trader with Zenfire data as my setup and using Man Financial as the Broker.
The other consideration is that the broker must be able to accept orders off the chart ( Chart trader) not just the dOM.

Cheers
Michael B

If NT supports your broker technology, then you can place orders in NT regardless of actual UI component/strategy etc. used.

I found this thread searching for datafeed/brokers supporting SPI.

I currently use IB and find it OK, however, would really like to try another just to see if an alternative datafeed that provides unfiltered data (not snapshots) would make any difference to my trading.

Does anyone have any suggestions or updates to add to this thread?

Hi Birdy,

Thank you for your post.

Interactive Brokers is a supported provider for NinjaTrader. The following link will take you to a page that details the steps required for creating a connection to Interactive Brokers and specific connection configuration information. Click here to take me to the Interactive Brokers Connection Guide

However, you would want to get in touch with IB so that you can get access to their data that would then be available in NinjaTrader.

They don't have an office in Australia.

See here for an overview of their offices:

IB support is really bad, customer service is rude and not helpful. The process of trying to set this up was painful.

Do you know of any other brokers who can be used in Australia for NT ?
