Default Editing properties by editing a file?

I have more than one chart open and if I want to make a "global" change to my charts there is no way to do that right? For example, if I have 5 charts and want to switch the background color on all five charts, I have to CTRL+T and so on for each chart, right?

But I was wondering if there might be a work-around...I was wondering if there was a file where this stuff is stored that I could edit. I would also like to be able to edit things like update interval, data series menu options (indicator colors). Is that possible? I'd appreciate your help with this. I realize I'd have to do that at my own risk, and I would backup the file before editing of course.

trader_rick1234 ,

Yes, you can save these changes in a chart template and then apply this saved template to your existing charts.

Please see our Help Guide article on Chart Templates for more information:

http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h..._templates.htm

The chart template will save all of your color properties, settings and indicators on the current chart. Once save din a template, these settings can be recalled on a 2nd chart by loading the chart template.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thanks but what I really wanted to do was edit a text file manually by using Notepad for example. (I already do the template thing, where I have to click on all charts to get something to apply.) Is there a text file I can edit?

Edit:OK, I guess it would be the Chart xml file? I dunno why I didn't think of editing template files.

trader_rick1234,

Your chart templates are saved in an XML document, however editing these is not supported.

In addition, if you were to edit this file, you would still need to reapply the chart template for the changes to take affect. It would not be possible to reload these settings on the fly.
